Spencer Golden Reviews:

“The majority of the Centro Campesino clients who attend our monthly First Time Homebuyer Workshops are unaware of the tax benefits when they become homeowners. We are very fortunate to have Spencer Golden as one of our key presenters every month. He carefully explains how being a homeowner enables you to make deductions on your yearly tax return.”

“Mr. Spencer Golden was first introduced to Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. (Legal Services) as a Fellow in our Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) while pursuing his LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Miami School of Law. During that time, he demonstrated his commitment to public service by driving to meet with clients that were unable to make it to the office, conducting community education events on weekends and recruiting a volunteer CPA to prepare tax returns that were beyond the scope of IRS VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites. Spencer also assisted the LITC with drafting an article on President Trump’s proposed tax reform that was published in the Summer 2017 MIE Journal (Management Innovation Excellence for Legal Aid).

Spencer returned to Legal Services in the Summer/Fall of 2017 to volunteer in our LITC while we were short-staffed. He continued to do the weekend community education events and began volunteering for our evening Divorce Clinic. Spencer continues to travel over one hour each way on weekends as an LITC ambassador facilitating community education events.

All in, Spencer has logged more than 100 hours in volunteer service to Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. He has educated almost 1,000 low income persons on the tax benefits of homeownership and tax rights and responsibilities, assisted approximately 30 low income taxpayers with their tax controversies and assisted several low income persons on preparing documents for a simple divorce in Florida.”
